L. Reuben Mitchell  M.A.

 Mr. Mitchell brings his experience as the Director of Employee Development at the Scripps Research Institute where he leads the training, recruitment, records, and employee relations functions. He has directed process improvement efforts, coaching mangers and supervisors for improved accountability, and assisted in the resolution of performance related issues. Reuben is also well versed in the development and implementation of Affirmative Action Programs.

He has also served as the Assistant Provost and Director of Campus Diversity Development at the University of San Diego, for several years. While at USD he worked in Human Resources where he created a Leadership Development Program, university-wide diversity training, and conducted community outreach.

As a trainer with the Anti-Defamation League, Reuben has worked with corporations such as Dupont Chemical, McDonald's, and SeaFirst Bank to help create a workplace where differences are valued, respected and people are able to reach their highest levels of performance.

Mr. Mitchell received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from Hiram College, a M.A. in Social Sciences from Azusa Pacific University. He is also the co-developer of an assessment instrument which measures the level of multiculturalism and inclusion within organizations called the Organizational Developmental Model of Inclusion (ODMI).

L. Reuben Mitchell is a Senior Consultant with JONES. He brings 40 years of experience providing leadership and organizational development to private liberal arts colleges, major research universities, government agencies, K-12 schools, law enforcement agencies, businesses and non-profit organizations.

Reuben currently serves as the Ombuds, at The Scripps Research Institute, in La Jolla, California and Jupiter, Florida. Prior to that he served as Director of Employee Development, in Human Resources.
